Bride’s day is next weekend. One of the old ways we celebrate is by making crosses. We do this on the eve of the feast day, then hang them in homes, cowsheds, and stables. The diamond lozenge cross, made of rushes or straw, was the most common; sometimes they have extra twigs across the legs like this one.
